Man the right wingers are touchy
So yet another right-winger somehow found my little blog and gets all upset because I believe that adult civil behavior is not too much to ask of my fellow Texas Aggies. His name is Sean Michael McCoy originally from Bulverde, Texas and he is a freshman General Studies major, his email is beefcake08@neo.tamu.edu and his AIM is
“cake of beef 08″. He has a MySpace page under the name “kingbeef08″. I was able also to find what is most likely his parent’s home phone number and address, but since I am not certain I won’t post it here. For those of you not steeped in Aggie tradition, his email is an incident of bad bull. Pulling out, using a phrase or class number reserved for a more senior class, by more than one class year is considered inappropriate, or “bad bull”. If he was a Cadet he would be expected to do 112 push ups every time he pulls out, i.e. sends an email or tells someone his email address.
ok [sic] id [sic] just like to say that [sic] aggie [sic] mom said it best, but heres [sic] wat [sic] i [sic] would like to add. i [sic] am currently an aggie class of ‘12 [sic]
Yikes, he was born in 1989, he doesn’t even remember when George H. W. Bush was President, let alone Ronald Reagan, oh well, on to the meat of his poorly written argument.
and id [sic] just like to say that it makes no sense to me how someone who claims to be so educated can make such an uneducated post.
Claims? I have a B.S. in Computer Science with minors in Philosophy and History from Texas A&M University. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Computer Science. My post was very educated. If the sense of honor and dignity that is supposed to be part of the Aggie Tradition is true, walking around with a shirt (either one, since I have since found out that there are BTHO McCain shirts too) advocating violent action against a presidential candidate is not appropriate and a disgrace to the spirit of A&M.
wat [sic] u [sic] have to realize is that any student can wear watever [sic] shirt they would like to wear on campus, i have seen several kids with a shirt that has a confederate flag on it, which is known to standfor [sic] racism and hate,
Yes they can, but that doesn’t mean they should. They shouldn’t wear Confederate navy jacks (the commonly seen flag with stars inscribed on a saltire is actually the flag flown by ships of the Confederate navy the real confederate flag resembles a simplified USA flag and was called the “Stars and Bars”) either. Even if you are claiming the history and heritage argument for the Confederate naval jack, that flag still stands for the belief that the Federal is subservient to the State, which it is not as the Supremacy cause of the Constitution states.
but i [sic] would never say im [sic] ashamed to be an aggie.
As for it being wrong to be ashamed of being an Aggie, every time a right-winger makes A&M look like some kind of backwoods, hick school and not a leading research University that has educated Presidents, Generals, and leaders of industry, every Aggie should be ashamed.
in [sic] fact it would take something alot [sic] more than one person expressing their own opinion just like u [sic] r [sic] on here to make me make [sic] such a claim. i [sic] think maybe u [sic] should read these comments with an open mind and realize that the world is full of people with their own opinions and beliefs and u [sic] should really learn to tolerate that fact because if u [sic] cant [sic] stand a simple t-shirt, then idk [sic] how u [sic] r [sic] going to function in the real world especially in a culturally diverse city.
I never tolerate the blatantly factually wrong. You tolerate those who have different backgrounds, lifestyles, and cultures, not the conscious decision to abandon logic, reason, facts, and the values their own University embodies. And frankly, a redneck with a cliched tattoo of a Confederate naval jack appearing as if it were underneath his skin is not prepared to deal with the real world. I work with people from many backgrounds and cultures daily. I am a member of an academic research community and work for a Military contractor developing software. I am doing perfectly fine in the real world.
basically [sic] get over yourself and learn to accept other peoples [sic] opinions without throwing a hissy fit,
This is not a matter of differing opinion and I say again I disagree with the “BTHO McCain” shirts also. The Aggie Spirit is supposed to be a spirit of unity, dignity, and honor. These shirts are divisive, undignified, and dishonorable, therefore every true Aggie and decent person should be disgusted by them.
and [sic] please if u [sic] have any aggie pride never say ur [sic] ashamed to be an aggie, because if u [sic] truely [sic] were then u [sic] wasted ur [sic] money on college.
p.s. Gig’em McCain and Palin!!!!
Nothing is more important than to recognize the problems existing in an institution and to fight for change in order to amplify and protect the core values and dignity of said institution. Any Aggie who refuses to admit fault of A&M or its student body is hurting A&M and does not understand what it means to be an Aggie. Thus is a failure of the University. My money was/is not wasted I am a productive patriot with a family, a job working for a DoD contractor, and a few years away from completion of a PhD. My money was well spent, hopefully the next 4+ years of Mr. McCoy’s life will be able to turn him into a decent member of society, hopefully with some knowledge of spelling.
