There is a footnote to the PHD Comic for 9/12/2008 it says:

Thanks to everyone at CERN who talked to me and to EPFL for inviting me to Switzerland. A shout-out also to the folks at the Texas A&M Cyclotron Institute for showing me their facilities and getting me started on this topic.

I’m always glad to see that Texas A&M has left a lasting impression on someone. Especially someone so famous among us lowly grad students.
